A Bar with a View

A-Bar-with-a-View-Bangalore’s night birds will tell you that The 13th Floor has one of the best views in the city.

Drop in, and you’ll see why. Perched on top of Barton Centre, the popular watering hole overlooks the heart of Bangalore. Glittering buildings and treetops stretch as far as the eye can see, and add to the scene an inky sky and the balmy weather the city is famous for, and you have the ideal setting for an evening out.

The bar serves premium spirits, everything from single malts and rum, to gin and brandy. There’s a hefty wine list as well, and lots of frothy Kingfisher. There’s a whole page dedicated to cocktails. The menu gives a choice between ‘Short & Potent’ potions such as Tom Cat and Stuka, and ‘Tall & Deadly’, like the Big Bertha and The Bangalore Torpedo. Shooters include Stiletto, Mata Hari and Columbian Necktie. There’s also Arsenic and Old Lace, if you’re feeling particularly brave.

The food menu draws from Indian, Oriental and Continental cuisines. There are light bites like a range of succulent kebabs, Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Pork Spare Ribs, and if you’re in need of greater sustenance, there are different kinds of biryani and pasta, Fish and Chips, Shepherd’s Pie, and Thai Curry.

The music here spans several genres, from loud and fast to smooth and mellow. Somehow, in a place like this, everything works. After all, just like in real estate, the business of partying is all about location, location, location.
