Classic Connection

The Dome, which opened at Le Royal Meridien in 2000, has fast become one of the most classic bars in the city. The wooden decor and the Colonial European themed artwork lend an elegant aura to the bar, emphasised by chandeliers and elegant marble counters. The lobby lounge bar is lit with 4,000 atrium bulbs, which are covered with a multi-coloured dome; the resulting ambience is designed to relax the customer.

Its classic signature style is also evident in its choice of decorum and entertainment. The dress code of The Dome is formals or smart casuals with closed shoes. The bar does not have a live DJ or a dance floor. The music usually comes from the piano played at the lobby.

The fare here is an eclectic mix with dishes such as the Goan Crab Cutlet, Mushroom Nuggets, Tomato Feta Bruchetta and Cocktail Fried Idly featuring on its menu. The most popular dishes are Boti Kebab, Travancore Chicken Fry, Koi Ma Gai and the Goan Crab Cutlet.

The collection of beverages at The Dome complement the cuisines offered here. Its liqueur section offers about 30 to 40 imported varieties of spirits like the Malibu, Kahlua, Southern Comfort, and Galliano while the variety of liquors comprise Whisky, Rum, Gin and Vodka. Kingfisher beer is served at Rs 250 for 650ml while a pint costs Rs 200.

The Dome has festive offers for its Barman Cocktails and exotic shooters named for cricket teams such as the Indian Shooter Team and Zimbabwe Caribbean Shot. Happy Hours at The Dome means a discount of 25 per cent on all liquors from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on all weekdays and from 12:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday. The bar is open from 11:00am to 11:30pm.
