Go Hell For Leather

The Leather Bar at The Park is a tribute to Chennai, the city of leather. That’s why it comes as no surprise that the place is outfitted with rich black leather floor that blend into olive suede walls. Artefacts and books on leather and fashion are also displayed across the space. To heighten the experience, a DJ mans a private console overlooking the lobby, and the outdoor terrace invites patrons to breathe in the smell of the sea.

The food here is another attraction, with The Leather Bar launching its new menu. Vegetarian appetisers include Panko Crumbed Cambembert Cromesquies, Mini Tacos, Asparagus and Pesto Bundles, Mushroom Bouchee, Garlic Wafers, and vegetarian kebabs like Chilly Glazed Tandoori Aloo, Peshawari Paneer Tikka, and Mushroom and Cashew Gilawat. The Leather Bar also offers platters of Mezze with Aubergine Tomato and Chilly Dip, Cucumber and Mint Labneh, Hummus, Falafel, Wine Leaf Dolmas, Tabbouleh, Spinach and Feta Phyllo Parcels, Feta Cheese, Olives and Flat Pizza Bread; South Indian dishes like Ragi and Carrot Paniharam, Pesarattu with Ginger Chutney, Stuffed Chilli Bhajji, Chilly Idli, Peanut Sundal, Ama Vadai; Seafood dishes Lobster Bouchee, gratinated Soft Shell Crab, Garlic Grilled Calamari, Caramelised Prawns, and Prawn Wafers; assorted kebabs Lamb Sheekh Kebab, Kasundi Fish Tikka, Chilli and Saffron Prawn Kebab, Achari Chicken Tikka; and Antipasti like Italian Salami, Prosciutto di Parma, Smoked Salmon, Spanish Chorizo, and Kalamata Olives.

Says Prashant lssar, Director for Food & Beverage at The Park, “The menu provides our guests a glimpse into our world at The Park by benchmarking our house cocktails against the legendary conventional cocktails within a variety of cocktail families. The Park’s take is based not only on the characteristics each family exhibits, but also, the current trends of fruity, refreshing and light cocktails. We have focussed our attention to careful detail in mixing fruits and spirit as well as certain spices which are either infused in-house or muddled a la minute.” For instance, Mirchi is a chilli infused vodka martini with passion fruit juice, and another signature creation is the Low Alcohol Cocktail featuring chilled watermelon juice with Bacardi and rock salt. The Park Martini including pomegranate with blueberry and vodka, Park Smash, and Mint Julep with Jim Bean are other interesting beverages on the menu apart from the varieties of beer, gin, vodka, tequila, brandy, liquers, whiskey, and rum.
