The Energy of Chi

Opened in 2008 in the Safdarjung Development Area, the place is a brainchild of entrepreneurs Sohrab Sitaram, Rohan Gupta and Sandeep Hooda who wanted to bring to the city authentic pan Asian flavours.

The one-year-old Select CITYWALK outlet is a 42-cover restaurant spread over 2200-square feet, and offers guests elaborate lunch and dinner menus. Headed by Chef Mohan Singh Chouhan, the place has an elaborate menu which has many firsts. Firstly, there is a full-size menu for tea drinkers who can choose among Darjeeling and Assam Teas as well as the the Kashmiri Kahwa and exotic teas like Yancui, Oolong and Monkey King Jasmine Tea.  In addition to this, they also have an elaborate drinks menu. Recommended among these are the Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea, Singapore Sling, Lynchburg Lemonade and Ultimate Bloody Mary, Watermelon Chijito, Gin-Ger Tonic and Kiwi Margarita.

Known for its regional street food fare Chi offers varied dishes like dimsums, tofus and full meals. The stir -fried Chicken Salad, Oat Flake Crusted Prawns with salt and pepper, Crispy Butter Garlic Prawn, Calamari with crispy Basil Chilli, Spring Roll with plum sauce and spicy mustard, Crispy Fried Vegetable Basil Mayo along with the Crispy Chilli Bean Mushroom and Asian Greens with Grilled Tofu or Prawns. From the dumplings menu, try the seafood and the spicy chicken dumplings to name a few. Tofu lovers’ can enjoy an assortment of tofu-based dishes.  Besides this, there are special mock meats (like soya), stir-fried Broccoli Asparagus and Snow Pea, Khauswey, Mausaman curry and Nasi Goreng  among others. Desserts include the classic Banana Toffee with Vanilla ice cream, Darsaan and Lychee with ice cream. 

This pan Asian fare works well with  a chilled pint of KF beer.
