Air India to Increase Options For In-flight Food Menu

Air India will now provide a wider variety in its in- flight cuisine on metro sectors, on the domestic network, and on flights of duration over 90 minutes, from April 1, 2012. Passengers flying with the national carrier can now look forward to more variety in dining, be it breakfast, lunch/dinner or high tea.

In the revised on board catering service, the airline will offer variety of menu to suit all types of palates, Indian and Continental. The focus of the new meals will be taste, attractive presentation and health consciousness. Salads and desserts will include gourmet items. The choices for vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals will be available to passengers flying both in economy and business class. Frequent fliers in particular, will now be able to relish variety hot meals and tasty snacks on different days whenever they fly with the airline. Business class passengers with a special food requirement can also choose from any of the 23 special meals, details of which are also available on the website The meal preference can also be intimated through the travel agent while making reservation.
