The Cochin International Airport is set to construct a new international terminal that can handle a higher number of passengers.
The world-class terminal is expected to cost about `250 crores, and work will begin after the plan receives approval from the board of directors. The upcoming terminal will have the capacity to handle about 2,000 passengers an hour as against the present capacity of 1,200 passengers.
Once the project is complete, the existing international terminal will be made the domestic terminal while the domestic terminal will be used for private executive jets and airport retailing.
