Hilton Checks Into Chennai

Chennai city has opened its doors to yet another luxury hotel for its growing populace of business and leisure travellers. This time around, it is international luxury hospitality brand Hilton Hotels & Resorts doing the honours. The hotel, owned by Chennai based Empee Group and managed by Hilton, is a 10-storey edifice with 204 rooms that spans more than 7,000 square feet. It offers deluxe rooms and executive rooms and suites; 138 of these rooms are currently open for reservation. The remaining rooms will be available shortly.

An added bonus of travelers is that the hotel is a mere 15-minute drive from Chennai’s domestic and international airports. It is strategically located in Guindy, which is home to headquarters of major technology firms and MNCs. Tourist attractions such as the Guindy National Park, Marina Beach, the old town of Mylapore with its ancient temple of Kapaleeswarar, San Thome Basilica Church and the city’s most prestigious museum, the Government Museum, are also within a stone’s throw of the hotel.

Hilton Chennai is the fourth Hilton Worldwide property in India, joining Hilton New Delhi Janakpuri, Hilton Garden Inn New Delhi Saket and Hilton Mumbai International Airport. We plan to open another six properties in India this year, which will more than double our trading estate for 2011. The opening of Hilton Chennai marks another milestone in our growth plan.”

The décor of the hotel combines a contemporary feel with a touch of old Madras. The rooms come with the signature Hilton Serenity Bed, a spacious work desk, a flat-screen LCD TV, a walk-in rain shower, a luxurious bathtub and high-speed Internet access. Hilton Chennai also offers state-of-the-art technology in its meeting rooms, with fully integrated audio-visual equipment and conference amenities. The Hilton Grand Ballroom is equipped with sky-fold soundproof partitions, positioned to be a sought-after venue for corporate meetings and informal parties.
