Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the appointment of Sumit Kumar as the General Manager for their debut hotel in the mid-market segment, Hyatt Place Hampi, Karnataka. Sumit Kumar has more than 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and worked with many hospitality brands. He stepped into the hospitality business in 1999 as the F&B assistant at The Trident, Jaipur. After a short stint he moved to Amarvilas, Agra, India as the Food and Beverage Supervisor. He has also been associated with hotels like JW Marriott, Mumbai, India as the Food and Beverage Executive and The Chedi Muscat as the Assistant Outlet Manager.
Sumit Kumar has been a part of the Hyatt group since last eight years. His affiliation with Hyatt Hotels Corporation commenced in December 2003, when he joined the Grand Hyatt Dubai as an Assistant Restaurant Manager. Following which, due to his impeccable performance, he was promoted as the Outlet Manager. After successfully managing different F&B outlets and opening of New Indian restaurant at Grand Hyatt Dubai, he was transferred and promoted to Grand Hyatt Muscat as Assistant Director of F&B. Sumit then moved to Park Hyatt Goa as the Director of Food and Beverage, ultimately making way to be the General Manager of Hyatt Place Hampi, Karnataka.
