According to news reports, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management contract with Perth-based developer Sunfire Asset to manage the first Holiday Inn Express hotel in a prime Perth CBD location, Australia.The 224-room property will be located at 257 Adelaide Terrace, overlooking the Swan River, a press release stated. The AUD 35-million development will incorporate a 20-floor hotel and a circa 1,888 heritage house, with construction expected to commence in the middle of this year and the opening slated for early 2015.
As a Holiday Inn Express hotel, it will offer guest rooms with a modern and consistent layout and a select range of amenities. Features will include ‘Grab & Go’ breakfast, meeting spaces, self-service facilities including laundry, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
“There is real investment potential in Perth hotels at the moment, with the mining capital of Australia experiencing soaring room rates and a shortage of guest rooms,” Ralph Nunis, Head, Sunfire Assets, said.
