Jet Offers Tickets for Rs 2250 Till February 24

Jet Airways has announced a nationwide sale of low fares for a period of six days. More than 20 lakh Economy seats will go on sale for over 450 domestic flights across 57 destinations on the Jet Airways & JetKonnect domestic sectors. This offer is available until mid night February 24. The airline has introduced four different slabs for these one way fares, based on the travel distance and the fares are inclusive of all taxes. Thus fares upto 750 kms have been priced at Rs 2,250, while fares for destinations from 750-1,000 kms are priced at Rs 2850, similarly destinations for which the travel distance is a 1,000-1400 kms are priced at Rs 3,300 and above 1,400 kms tickets are priced at Rs 3800. These fares are inclusive of all taxes.

On January 11, SpiceJet announced 10 lakh seats on offer at Rs 2,013 for travel between February and April, which could be booked over three days, sparking concern at the aviation regulator DGCA’s office who perceived such a practice harmful for financials of airlines, consequently requesting others not to join in.

However, to be on top of the war for marketshare, Jet Airways seems to have taken the plunge, offering double the number of seats SpiceJet offered.

Sudheer Raghavan, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways, said: “This nationwide low fare sales offer is a goodwill gesture to our loyal guests who will now be able to plan and schedule their travel much in advance, especially during the holiday seasons, while benefiting from these special fares. We have no doubt that these range of special fares, will offer tremendous value throughout the year, especially since they will be valid for travel all the way up to December 31st 2013. This limited inventory under the offer is subject to availability on all domestic flights of Jet Airways and JetKonnect.”

High airfares throughout 2012 due to grounding of Kingfisher Airlines caused passengers to opt out of air travel, leading to negative growth in traffic for the first time since 2009.

The travel fraternity had predicted that 2013 will be all about exciting offers to stimulate the market stated the news report.
