Matthew Cooper appointed General Manager of Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield

Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield announced the appointment of Matthew Cooper as the General Manager of the property set to be open in January 2013.

Matthew will lead the management team towards the opening of Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield as the very first Marriott branded hotel in Bangalore. In his new role, Matthew will be responsible for the operational set up and steering of the overall management of the hotel. Matthew will also play a vital role in employee training and development, while driving performance across various dimensions including financial success, brand value, guest satisfaction and engagement as well as quality in service.

Prior to this assignment, Matthew was the General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon, where he was responsible for overseeing the entire operations and business of the hotel right from its pre-opening stages. He was awarded the prestigious General Manager of the year in 2010 and in the same year the hotel was declared ‘The Best Opening Hotel’.

Having been in India for over 7 years now, Matthew absolutely loves India, the culture and most importantly the food. Matthew has been a part of Marriott for the last 14 years and this makes him an ideal selection to handle the operations for our first ever property in the city. With his extensive experience and flair for innovation and styling, Matthew is sure to raise the standards of hospitality in Bangalore and give our patrons a true Marriott experience.
