Mysore’s First Commercial Flight Takes Off

According to news reports, Mysore Airport witnessed its first commercial flight take off on Monday. After lying idle for more than three years, the Mysore Airport is finally functional.

Spice Jet’s flight took off to Chennai via Bengaluru at 1.30 pm. The airline will operate three domestic flights a week and there will be a direct flight to Chennai, and also connectivity (change of flight) to Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad via Bengaluru, said Mysore Airport Director C. Manjunath.

In a conversation with the press, he stated that there will be a flight per day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and each flight can accommodate 78 people.

Booking of air tickets too began on Monday. The tickets can be booked at the airport, air ticket booking agencies and online. Twenty per cent of the seats will be offered at a 40 percent inaugural discount till the month-end, he said.

Flights leave Mysore at 1.30 pm and arrive in Bengaluru at 2.20pm and arrive at Chennai 4.10 pm. In the return direction, flights leave Chennai at 10.40 am, land in Bengaluru at 12.20 and arrive in Mysore at 1.10 pm.
