The luxurious Taj Krishna has appointed Rajesh Rednam as the new Director of Sales. Rednam has been in the hospitality industry for 13 years, having started his career in Food &Beverage operations. He has been in sales and marketing for 11 years. He said, “My first job was in 1999 at St Mark’s Hotel Bangalore as an F&B Captain, wherein I worked in all F&B outlets with a special focus on banquets. Post that, I made my foray into sales and marketing, joining the Taj West End Bangalore in 2001 as a Catering Sales Executive. I moved out in 2006 as Catering Sales Manager.”
Originally from Visakhapatnam, Rednam’s association with the Accor Group began in April 2006 when he joined the Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) as Sales Manager. He later became the Director of Sales – Corporate. “My core area is to determine, design and drive sales and marketing strategies which will achieve revenue targets and profits for the company and also build strong customer relationships for long-term business sustainability. Revenue management is a very critical subject in the hotel business and that got me interested.” And what is his plan of action and vision as the Director of Sales at the Taj? “My vision is to retain market leadership in REVPAR Premium, boost occupancy levels by providing a strategic direction and adopting a total revenue approach,” he concluded.
