Whoever thought space travel was a futuristic thing might have to rethink again. As early as 2016, a Russian space firm called Orbital Technologies plans to open a space hotel pod 217 miles for tourists. The four-room orbiting hotel would house up to seven guests and offer ‘out-of-this-world’ views of earth through giant viewing windows. The amenities offered are minimal like space food and limited non-alcoholic drinks, vacuum toilets and sponge baths. The cost of this galactic journey is priced at $1 million (£630,000) for a five-day stay, plus an estimated $800,000 (£500,000) for the journey up there.
