Tiger Airways Launches Services From Hyderabad

Singapore’s low cost carrier (LCC) Tiger Airways will launch its five day week services from Hyderabad’s GMR international airport from September. This new addition marks the sixth Indian destination for Tiger after Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Tiruchirappalli.

Last year, Tiger Airways has publicly stated its intentions to build its presence in India. This service will compete directly with Singapore Airlines regional franchise carrier Silk Air which operates many weekly with an A319 and A320. Singapore Airlines operates a dual brand strategy in India, with both Singapore Airlines and Silk Air operating to top metro markets in India.

To mark the newest addition to the Tiger network, the airline is offering exceptional promotional fares to and from Singapore to Hyderabad, and intends to build its fleet to 68 aircraft by December 2015.
