Biswajit Chakraborty New GM of Sofitel Mumbai BKC

Mr.Chakraborty joins Sofitel with over 25 years of hospitality experience. He has worked as General Manager for over a decade at the two Hotels-the Yak and Yeti in Nepal, The Leela Kempinski Kovalam and Mumbai as well as the grand Mövenpick Hotel & Spa Bangalore.

Under his stewardship, Mövenpick Hotels & Spa Bangalore was the first of the 5- star hotel to be certified as the Green Globe Hotel in India. He was awarded the ‘General Manager of the Year’ by Hotelier India in 2009 amongst other honours. He held key positions in Sales and Marketing as DSM in Oberoi Hotels Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, as well as served the Taj Group. He is an alumnus of the Bangalore University, Cornell University, Lausanne Hospitality Consulting, McKinsey & Company and Mercuri Goldmann.
