IndiGo, Jet Airways and Air India increased their market shares in July at the expense of SpiceJet, data by India’s aviation regulator showed on Friday. The market share of low-cost airline SpiceJet dropped 2% to 17.5% in one month.
IndiGo increased its lead to 29.7% followed by Jet at 25.3% and Air India at 19.2%. GoAir’s market share fell a little to 8.3%. Indian air passenger traffic dropped by nearly 3% in July compared with June as the lean period set in fully, though the total traffic between January and July grew marginally from a year ago, according to DGCA.
