Signature Crest Hotels and Apartments plans to manage Bed & Breakfast establishments in India

Signature-crest-logoAccording to news reports, Mumbai-based Signature Crest Hotels and Apartments Pvt. Ltd., which owns and manages serviced apartments in India, is looking at taking up management of Bed & Breakfast (B&B) establishments in the country. Speaking to Hospitality Biz, Venkatesh K Rao, CEO, Signature Crest, said, “There are many B&B establishments in India which lack management expertise. We would like to provide our services to these establishments to manage their business successfully. To start with, we want to take up management of B&B establishments in Delhi. During the Commonwealth Games 2010, many B&B establishments had come up to cater to the demand, however, after the Games, these establishments are finding it difficult to meet the cost. With an expert team of marketing, sales, operations we aim to support these establishments to turn into a profitable units.”

Signature Crest operates serviced apartments at six business locations and resorts at seven leisure destinations in India. Talking about the expansion plans, Rao said, “The Group is looking at opening properties in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Kolkata by March 2014. Each of these properties will have 15-20 rooms. Besides, we are looking at taking up management of resorts in Goa, Mahabaleshwar (Maharashtra) and Manali (Himachal Pradesh). By the end of March 2014, we will have an inventory of 100 rooms at our serviced apartments in Mumbai. Plans are afoot to add 20 rooms to Noida property, 23 rooms to Ahmedabad property and 15 cottages to Kalyani Village Resorts, Vajreshwari (outskirts of Mumbai). This additional room inventory will be operational in two to three months.”

Furthermore, Signature Crest is looking at tapping the inbound Medical Tourism segment from the Middle East. Rao informed, “We have participated in trade fairs in Middle East, and will continue to take part in roadshows and exhibitions in the region to promote our properties and showcase our offerings for medical tourists.”
