Tufan Kobanbay Appointed Executive Assistant Manager, Grand Hyatt Goa

Tufan began his hospitality career in 1995 with Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinski Istanbul and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Tourism and Hotel Management from the Bilkent University in Turkey.
He joined Hyatt International in October 2000 at Grand Hyatt Istanbul as Management Trainee. He has subsequently worked in various positions at the same property.
Within two years he took on the task of Assistant Outlet Manager. During his reign as Assistant Outlet Manager he re-launched as well as managed the all-day dining restaurant and was in charge of the execution of unique projects and managing numerous aspects of the food and beverage division.
He then moved on to Gloria Jean’s Coffees a giant in the world of coffee in the year 2003. He set up a brand new store and was in charge of supervising, scheduling as well as training the new team. He successfully planned, organized and controlled all the activities of the store.
After nine months he moved on to become Operations Manager at Gezi Istanbul – Chocolaterie, Patisserie, Café and Bistro. There, he played a key role by leading the institutionalization process of the newly restructured company.
In May 2005, he got back to his roots and re-joined Hyatt as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. While making sure all the outlets operated successfully he also ensured, they were on par with the impeccable Hyatt International standards.
From there onwards his career began its inevitable ascension into management brilliance. In 2007 he was the Director of Food and Beverage at Hyatt Regency Almaty and then in 2010 he moved on to Grand Hyatt Muscat with the same capacity. Finally, before joining Grand Hyatt Goa as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Food and Beverage he held the same title at Grand Hyatt Muscat.
